We are excited to share a few fun ideas to do with kids for Cinco De Mayo. Cinco De Mayo is an annual celebration held on May 5. The date is observed to commemorate the Mexican Army’s victory over the French Empire at the Battle of Puebla on this day in 1862. It is now celebrated in may ways in the United States by not only our amazing Mexican population but also by many others. Celebrating special events and days with kids helps them understand that when fabulous things take place, they are remember for years to come.
Let’s start with a Mexican recipe for guacamole. We tried the one in the Klutz book, Kid’s Cooking. The recipe book is filled with wonderful (and simple) recipes for kids to do with just a little help. The book comes with a kid size rainbow whisk which is super cool.
Another fun idea is to make some little clay charms. We used another Klutz book titled Make Clay Charms. It comes with clay and everything you need to make darling charm including clay, shaping tool, charm bracelet, glaze, jump rings and charm loops and a drying stand.
So let us know, do you like the taco, the cactus or the avocado better?
